AGM 2024
Two months have passed since our latest, most successful Beer Festival took place in Haddenham. A little downtime and a few ice baths to soothe the muscles later, it’s time for us to hold our Annual AGM. This year, we are doing it a little differently. One of the Committee’s aims in the past has been to turn our great event into a Charity Organisation with a Board of Trustees to benefit from the opportunities to formalise how we donate our money and gain access to funds to support the running of the event for the community.
This work has been under way for several years now, and this year we will be finalising the paperwork to make this happen.
The AGM will be an opportunity to apply for roles on the Trustee Board. Some of these roles are similar to those currently occupied by existing committee volunteers; To this end, the Haddenham Beer Festival Charity will now have these roles formalised with job descriptions viewable on request. In order to be considered for a role, Trustees will take into account experience and skills of those nominating themselves as well as a willingness to commit to the large amount of volunteer time required to make a successful Beer Festival. We do not say this lightly, being a volunteer for the Beer festival is hard work but very rewarding. As per the constitution, voting for those roles will then be taken at the AGM itself. If there are more than one nominations for a given role, then it might be a sensible idea to have some pre-prepared notes on why you should be considered for the position, lending to the skills and experience you have suitable to the role.
The date of the Haddenham Beer Festival AGM will be the 11th September 2024 at 7.30pm at The Arkenstall Centre.
